About

The Vidi mapper provides a window-scissor tool to map an arbitrary window region easily and quickly into an intelligent gadget - the Vidi window. The Vidi gadgets used along with the conventional windows improve user's experience by enabling easier access to relevant content.

The mapped windows allows interaction, moving, scrolling and exploring content on the desktop. Appearance of a particular Vidi window could be customised including the visual style, border size and colouring. Adjustments of content and borders transparency and luminosity could be performed in an easy and intuitive way. The form could be set or adjusted to a rectangular or free  shape. Partial elements of mapped windows could be switched on or off on the display with a single click. All settings including a screen position and appearance could be saved or retrieved from a file. Those properties enable utilisation of completely new usage paradigms on the display surface. Read more...

Brief history
The concept of Vidi windows arose from a three year long process of profound reconsideration regarding windows GUI, and continuous prototyping of possible enhancements as practical solutions. Some enhancements could, subsequently, be identified as corresponding to HCI trends and actual practice. In the Spring of 2007, evaluation version of the product was prepared as an enhancement to windows based on Microsoft .NET platform. The current product-evaluation presents a unique solution to some window-users' problems.
