Zooming menu-section sets particular parameters, which are applied to screen-selection
zooming respectively screen-magnifying.
Main menu item shows actual zoom level, which is applied for screen-selection and could be set
between 10% and 1000%. Initial – default zoom level is 100% and this means – no zooming is
performed upon screen-selection.
Example 1 – Zoom level is 100% and a part of the screen has been selected using the scissors:
The selected area appears within an area, which is transparently magnified without the
zooming. Sliding the mouse-wheel upwards or downwards, selected area zoom-level can be fine
adjusted to desired level interactively.
Example2 – Zoom level is 177% and the same part of the screen, as within the example 1, has
been selected:
The selected area appears initially zoomed for zoom-level parameter. Sliding the mouse-wheel
upwards or downwards, selected area zoom-level can be fine adjusted to desired level
interactively for example on the 188%.
Menu on the selected area allows saving the tuned zoom-level as the default zoom level.
Click on the first menu item “Zoom Vidi” (“copy to”, “save to”...depending from primary use
settings) allows editing initial menu level value.
Entered value can be acknowledged clicking the green button or cancelled with mouse click on
the reed cancel button (respectively ENTER or ESC keys on the keyboard). Sign within the loupe
icon on the left side of menu represents if actual level is positive (+), negative (-) or is reset to
original selection size (O)
Desired initial zoom level can further be enlarged or shrunk by 10% or set to its original value of
100%.
Select content versus Select viewport
An object could be zoomed on two different ways.
1. Selected object and viewport are zoomed simultaneously – so you as user get more
concentrated on the whole content of the selected and zoomed object. A ball in
previous example has been enlarged together with the surrounding frame with selected
Select content parameter. This may be useful, when zooming graphics or screen
objects.

2. Selected object is enlarger, but the frame remains same initial size, which is drawn as
a
part of selection process. When using Select viewport parameter, a golf-ball gets resized
within initially declared frame. This may be useful, when defining a part of your screen
as a loupe to underlying textual information.
Refresh selection
This parameter when enabled causes the dynamic refresh (4 times per second) of
selected area. If you are selecting for example a part of dynamic web site content, the
selected content refreshes just like the underlying content.
After selecting an object, the selection can be moved – just like Vidi windows, in three
modes. Regarding our golf-example:
1. Absolute-ball and frame are moved simultaneously in desired direction
2. Relative- ball remains on the tee, but the zooming frame moves around the
ball
3. On place- frame remains on place, but the ball moves to the desired direction
When refreshing changes, the mouse buttons functions swaps. As consequence, the
default moving mode from user point of view changes accordingly to refreshing or no
refreshing of the selected object. Advanced user, however, still can use second mouse
button during dragging to switch refreshing temporarily for the time of moving ON
without changing the menu parameter.
