Cutting a freeform shape
  

The freeform shaped Vidi window can be created using the freeform cutting mode. Within this mode, the scissors-nib needs to be positioned firstly on the border location of the desired freeform area. This positioning is performed by mouse drag of the scissors-nib, as described for all other modes.

Right-mouse dragging of the opened scissors-nib draws a curve from the beginning to the actual drag position. After finishing dragging – releasing the right mouse button, the drawn curve closes automatically and the shape surrounded by the curve becomes semi-transparently magnified. Both buttons – the Acknowledge and Cancel buttons are shown at positions as described for all other cutting modes.

Acknowledge button graphic (or one ofgraphic,graphic,graphic when screen-capturing mode), or Enter keystroke, acknowledges the selection, and it appears within freeform Vidi (respectively copied into the clipboard).

Cancel buttongraphic or Esc keystroke, cancels the current selection. Cutting sequence is shown below:

Remark: The freeform cutting mode is unavailable in Light Edition of Vidi windows.
